Happy Mothers Day Mom!

It’s been 10 years since I graduated High School
And in those 10 years, I haven’t thanked you enough
For being my Mom, and the incredible loving soul you are

First, I’m thankful for how you raised me
Even though I may have been a bit stubborn at times
You raised me right and taught me to respect others
And for making me use “Thank You” and “Please” to everyone
And teaching me the importance of using my manners

I’m thankful for you being my biggest cheerleader in life
You’ve supported me in everything I wanted to do
From giving ice skating lessons a whirl
To purchasing my first copy of Photoshop that showed me
A love for a new side of design that I eventually made into my career

I’m thankful for you teaching me how to use my money
Making sure I knew money didn’t actually grow on trees
And teaching me the importance of saving my money
From the day we went to the Regions bank
And created my first ever bank account
Because never more have I been thankful for you showing me
The importance of handing my money carefully

I’m thankful for you doing your job as both Mom
And your actual job at work both at the same time
From the days I got sick
And you had to care for me and rush me to the doctor
To the days I’d wake you up in the middle of the night
Because the dreams were too scary
I am forever thankful for your sacrifices and always being there

I’m thankful for all the meals you cooked me
When I think of home
I think of the smell the chicken and noodles
And the slow-cooked roast on a Sunday morning
Thank you for all the meals you cooked for me and
all the love and comfort that went into the food you made

I’m thankful for bringing me to Titans games
For you helped foster my life-long friendship with Davis
And gave life to life-long memories as well
It wasn’t just a Titans game I got to go too
It was a Sunday where we got to hang out with friends
Eat good food, smile and laugh
And some of my favorite memories are from those Sunday’s
From Fitzgerald tossing me his gloves
To playing cornhole and celebrating the wins
These memories will always hold a place in my heart

I’m thankful for your forgiveness, even when I hurt your feelings
From the stupid things I said to the stupid things I did
I’m thankful for your unconditional love and motherly support
Even through the rough times
I am beyond thankful for you putting up with me and
For the love you showed me and the forgiveness you gave me

I just want to tell you how thankful I am that you’re my Mom
And how much I love you
Because I’ll never get to say it enough
So thank you Mom, for everything you’ve done for me
And everything you will continue to do for me
I love you very much, and I can’t wait to see you again.

Love you,
Brandon
